Audrey Tautou

Audrey Tautou, the oldest of four children, was born on the 8th of August 1976 in Beaumont Puy-de Domme. Since a young age, her dental doctor parents as well as her teacher mom supported her love of theater and drama. It was this love that trumps her first desire to be an animal scientist. Her fame grew as an actress in her early years and enjoyed enormous popularity and success. Following her graduation She was a part of the French television show that scouts talent Jeunes Premiers that was sponsored by Canal+. She won the award for the best young Actress prize at the Beziers Festival of Young Actors in the year 2000. She then began a career as an actress. Tautou went to church and Institut Catholique de Paris during her childhood, but she is now separating herself from these upbringings. Neben her acting, Tautou pursued modelling and was the face for L'Oreal Mont Blanc as well as Chanel. She also has a serious photographic passion and has recently produced an exhibition of her work during the Arles Festival with the name Superficial. The majority of her photography is focused on celebrity and fame, and focuses the camera on the journalists who scrutinised her following her sudden rise to fame in the film Amelie in addition to a series of self-portraits. Audrey Tautou's first big part, playing Amelie Poulain's main actor in Le Fabuleux d'Amelie, landed her international stardom. Amelie won international acclai the box office and was acclaimed at awards ceremonies all over the world. It is the top-grossing French film to be released in the United States. The film's success led Tautou to a variety of roles, ranging from British dramas as Dirty Pretty Things by Stephen Knight and Jean Pierre Jeunet to Hollywood's The Da Vinci Code with Tom Hanks.
