Anna Leigh Ashford

Annaleigh Amanda Ashford (born April 14th 1988) was an American actress, singer and dancer. Her early Broadway productions included Wicked Legally Blonde Hair. For her role as Essie In You Can't Take It With You she received the Tony Award. Annaleigh is a Tony Award winning actress and director has spent most of her professional career working alongside well-known directors and actors on screen and in television. Ashford will be next in the role of Kumail Nanjiani on Robert Siegel's Hulu exclusive Welcome to Chippendales. It premieres on the 22nd of November. Ashford is currently working for Searchlight Pictures' horror thriller Dust with Sarah Paulson and Ebon Moss-Bachrach. In the form of an Hulu Original, the film is available on Disney DTC's platform. Ashford will be seen as Josh Groban on Broadway's Lunt-Fontanne Theatre in the March 2023 production of Stephen Sondheim's Sweeney Todd. Thomas Kail as director and Jeffrey Seller as producer will form the team of creators for the production. Ashford's last part was that of Paula Jones on Ryan Murphy FX's American Crime Story Impeachment. It is based upon the national scandal which involved Paula Jones Monica Lewinsky, as well as Linda Tripp. Ashford appeared for two seasons on the CBS hit comedy B Positive. The series was created by Marco Pennette, Chuck Lorre and Linda Lavin. It also had Ben Vereen and Elizondo. Sunday in the Park with George Wicked legally blonde and the original role of Lauren in Kinky Boots were among her other Broadway credits. Ashford was raised and born in Denver and is now dividing her time between Los Angeles, and New York.

After her first film Bad Boys starring as a Brat Pack participant in WarGames 1982 as well as The Breakfast Club '85 she was well-known as a part of this group.
